Is it necessary to re-sign the contract after a tenant renewal?
No. A renewed tenancy can be saved first, and the contract follow-up is still optional on both Web and App.
Entry:
- Web: [Rentals] -> [Tenant Tenancies] -> tenancy detail -> [Renewal]
- App: [Rentals] -> [Tenant Tenancies] -> [Renewal]
Web
After the renewal is submitted successfully, Web shows a follow-up confirmation:
- [Do you want to create a new contract for this lease tenancy?]
At that point, you can choose either branch:
- [Yes, Continue]: open [Add Contract] for the renewed tenancy
- [No]: finish the renewal without starting the contract flow
If you continue, the current contract dialog supports these contract methods:
- [Completed offline signing of paper contract]
- [Completed contract filling]
- [Use templates to quickly create electronic contracts]
App
On App, the renewal flow continues to a files step instead of a yes/no dialog. After the renewal form, you go to [Upload Files] and [Electronic Contract].
- You can upload contract files on [Upload Files].
- You can choose a template on [Electronic Contract] if you want to continue e-signing.
- Completing the renewal does not require you to choose an electronic contract template first.
- If a template is selected and e-signature is enabled, the success popup lets you [Continue to Sign]. Otherwise, you can just [Return to List].
Platform differences
- Web asks the contract question after the renewal is saved.
- App carries the contract choice into the next files step.
- Neither platform forces you to create or re-sign a contract as part of saving the renewal itself.
Note:
- If your internal process requires new paperwork for every renewed term, you still need to upload or create that contract yourself after the renewal is saved.
- The available contract methods can vary with account configuration, especially for electronic-signature options.
